Normally, I’m not the biggest fan of Rory McIlroy, but I can show appreciation here.
The golf superstar has locked in his choices for the menu that will be dished out at the Masters Champions Dinners, and though the food is grade-A in itself, it’s McIlroy’s choice of wine that creates the aura.
An annual tradition since 1952, green jacket-winners from the past and particular members of the Augusta National board will join each other during tournament week in a Tuesday night dinner, with the meal being selected by the defending Masters champion. In 2026, that would be Rory McIlroy. (RELATED: NASCAR Driver Daniel Dye Suspended After Mocking IndyCar Racer David Malukas On Livestream)
The menu from the Northern Irishman includes four appetizers: rock shrimp tempura, bacon-wrapped dates, grilled elk sliders and peach and ricotta flatbread.
Afterwards, attendees will be given the first course, which is a yellowfin tuna carpaccio. And this comes prior to the main course: a choice of seared salmon or wagyu filet mignon. For dessert, McIlroy chose a sticky toffee pudding.
And then we get to McIlroy’s wine list, with the defending Masters champion offering four bottles on his menu, and you better believe that they’re expensive, per OutKick via Wine Searcher:
2015 Salon ‘S,’ Brut, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Champagne: $1,219 per bottle
2022 Domaine Leflaive, Batard-Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet, Burgundy: $2,371 per bottle
1990 Chateau Lafite Rothschild, Pauillac, Bordeaux: $1,273 per bottle
1989 Chateau d’Yquem, Sauternes, Bordeaux: $556 per bottle
