When people think about human resources departments, they typically focus on recruiting, benefits, onboarding and payroll. Throughout the past few years, though, sports teams throughout the country have begun focusing on the overall employee experience, and the ways they can engage employees throughout their tenure.

Employee engagement has become a buzzword throughout every industry. But within sports, it can be the difference between loving or leaving an organization. Wins and losses will always be important to the fans, but enjoying your job will always be the most important thing for the front office staff.

Although not every team has a specific person dedicated to employee engagement, the importance of taking care of employees has become more prominent as burnout becomes more common in sports.

Employees within the industry tend to work weekends and late nights and may miss birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and more due to the intense schedule throughout the season.
