AquaTru Under Sink water purifier review: Is it worth the price?
See if the AquaTru Under Sink water purifier is worth it with a closer look at its reverse osmosis filtration, costs, installation, and convenience
A water filter shouldn't have to take over your kitchen counter. The AquaTru Under Sink water purifier takes care of that problem by tucking a reverse osmosis filtration system beneath your sink and delivering filtered water through its own faucet. It's designed to reduce a wide range of contaminants, including lead, fluoride, and PFAS, without adding another appliance to your countertop.
That convenience is the main selling point. You get filtered water on demand for drinking, cooking, and filling water bottles, along with a 1.7-gallon storage tank that keeps purified water ready to use. The system also includes leak detection and alerts to let you know when it's time to replace a filter.
But a built-in filtration system is a bigger commitment than a pitcher you can pick up at the store. The AquaTru requires plumbing connections, space beneath your sink, and ongoing spending on replacement filters. Before buying, you'll want to know whether its filtration capabilities and everyday convenience justify the cost.
Here's what to consider before bringing the AquaTru Under Sink into your kitchen.
What you're paying for
The AquaTru uses a four-stage reverse osmosis process to reduce a range of contaminants. Its filtration system is designed to address substances including lead, arsenic, fluoride, and PFAS, along with sediment, chlorine, and other impurities. AquaTru says the system is independently tested and certified by IAPMO to NSF standards for reducing 84 contaminants.
That's a substantial filtration offering, but the number alone doesn't tell the whole story. What matters is whether the system is certified........
