Senate is set to vote on a stock-trading ban and data center bill before election recess

Neither bill is expected to clear the 60-vote filibuster threshold, with Democrats signaling opposition to both measures

The Senate is scheduled to hold procedural votes Wednesday on two House-passed bills — one that would bar members of Congress from buying individual stocks and another that would create a regulatory framework for data center energy costs — in what could be the chamber's final session before a more than month-long pre-election recess.
