Hormel Foods is buying family-owned chicken company Brakebush Brothers for $1.06 billion

The deal, expected to close in early 2027, would add roughly $1.2 billion in annual sales to Hormel's foodservice business

Hormel Foods announced a definitive agreement to acquire Brakebush Brothers, a family-owned value-added chicken processor, for approximately $1.055 billion. The Austin, Minnesota-based maker of Spam and Skippy peanut butter said Wednesday that completing the deal would deepen its footprint in value-added chicken while reinforcing its foodservice operations.
