Jonny Butcher, 28, is not letting his life-changing diagnosis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, a rare type of motor neurone disease, stop him from attending City matches.

He has spent 20 years with his father watching hundreds of games in the Regency Security stand, until last month when they moved to the South Stand because he needs to use a wheelchair.

On Tuesday, his "dream" City fan experience will come true as he will meet Darren Huckerby, the former forward.

Huckerby played more than two hundred games for Norwich, between 2003 and 2008, quickly becoming hugely popular.

He said: “My cousin works as a photographer and is friends with Chris Reeve, who runs Talk Norwich City.

"He connected us with Darren Huckerby.

"Huckerby said he will be escorting me to the posh seats to watch the game.

"I think we will be sat in the terrace seats."

Mr Butcher put together a bucket list in February when he was diagnosed with the condition, which affects the nerves in his brain and spinal cord.

Mr Butcher's diagnosis "completely shocked" him and his wife, Ana Butcher.

He said: “I don’t know what’s going to happen.

"I have been given around three years to live. We are just trying to manage with the constant changes.

“My wife, Ana, has been amazing at helping make some of my bucket list wishes come true."

Mr Butcher first noticed something was wrong at his stag do in August 2024.

He said: "I was go-karting and my left arm started to feel really weak. On the first night of our honeymoon I had an intense pain in my left shoulder.

"In January last year, I started to get tremors in my left hand. My condition worsened despite doing physiotherapy like doctors advised."

Tests carried out earlier this year revealed his diagnosis.

He added that his uncle also suffered from the disease.
