Two companies take over 15 care schemes after council company pulls out
Norse Care, owned by Norfolk County Council, had been responsible for providing care to people with support needs who rent apartments in 15 schemes across the county.
But, with the contract to provide that care running out, Norse Care decided not to bid to keep providing it, so County Hall put it out for tender, with two companies, Universal Care Services and Radis, awarded the new contracts.
Norse Care staff have now transferred across to the new providers, but trade union Unison had, prior to that, written to councillors to express concerns about the change, including the impact on tenants and staff.
