Union Budget 2026: FM Sitharaman proposes 7 high-speed rail corridors across major Indian cities
New Delhi: In the Union Budget 2026, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman laid out a strong push towards environmentally sustainable passenger transport by proposing the development of seven high-speed rail corridors linking major urban and economic hubs. Sitharaman described the routes which will connect the cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Varanasi and Siliguri as “growth connectors”.
