By attacking Kejriwal, has Rahul Gandhi begun the revival of Congress in Delhi?

They have finally reached the roadblock that was long expected. The Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which had contested the Lok Sabha elections in alliance six months ago, are now going public trying to brand the other a liar, corrupt and unworthy. Launching his Delhi campaign ahead of February 5 assembly elections in the national capital on Monday, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi compared AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal with BJP Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accused him of indulging in making false promises to fool the public and garnering their votes.

While Gandhi’s attack on Kejriwal must have fulfilled Delhi Congress workers long-withheld heartfelt desire of to go full throttle against its INDIA bloc partner, AAP did not take kindly to the criticism. Kejriwal hit back at Gandhi saying that while “he is fighting to save the Congress, my fight is to save the country,”. Soon after, Sandeep Dikshit, son of former chief minister Sheila Dikshit and Congress candidate from New Delhi Assembly constituency against Kejriwal tweeted a 13-point post accusing AAP leader of indulging in blatant lies, making false promises, committing corruption, helping BJP win elections by cutting Congress votes, threatening Congress leaders like Sonia Gandhi with jail terms etc. Dikshit ended his argument by saying that “there is no need for you (Kejriwal) to save the country, the need is to save the country from you”.
