Kathmandu: The devastating flash flood in Nepal’s Rasuwa district on Wednesday has once again raised concerns about vulnerable communities along the Himalayas. The disaster has also raised questions in Kathmandu on whether construction work by China in Tibet-Nepal border is impacting the ecosystem in the region.

Disaster lead to criticism of China in Nepal

Nepali journalist Parshuram Kaphle said Nepal has repeatedly taken into account China’s security concerns. He, however, accused China of not sharing any early warning with Nepal on the possibility of such a major disaster.
