Agnikul expands reusable rocket infrastructure ahead of Flight 02

Agnikul Cosmos has expanded its Chennai infrastructure with new facilities for stage testing and pressure vessel manufacturing. The move comes as the startup prepares for Mission-02 and works towards reusable rockets and more frequent launches.

Chennai: Agnikul Cosmos has expanded its rocket testing and manufacturing infrastructure with two new facilities in Chennai, as the Indian space startup prepares for its second mission and moves towards higher-frequency launch operations.

The company inaugurated the Stage Testing & Inspection Facility (STIF) and the Pressurant Tank Realization, Over-wrapping and Outfitting Facility (PROOF) at its Assembly and Testing Facility on September 8. Gp. Capt. Shubhanshu Shukla, the Gaganyaan astronaut, inaugurated the facilities.

STIF is designed to test complete reusable rocket stages under conditions that replicate flight operations. Unlike component-level testing, the facility can test stages with propulsion and avionics integrated, allowing Agnikul to evaluate the vehicle as a complete system before launch.
