Trump renames AI ‘super intelligence’, says Americans have to trust tech leaders

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order directing the federal government to refer to artificial intelligence as 'super intelligence', while urging Americans to trust the tech companies developing the technology.

New Delhi: US President Donald Trump has ordered the federal government to replace the term ‘artificial intelligence’ with ‘super intelligence’, or ‘SI’, in a move he said would better reflect the technology’s capabilities.

Trump signed the executive order on Tuesday, September 29, while hosting several leading technology executives at the White House. He also defended the industry’s ability to police itself and sought to reassure Americans about the rapid expansion of AI.
