The curse that politicians like Justin Trudeau have brought upon the nation is playing out poetically. Faced with calls for secession of the western province of Alberta, Canada stands stripped of its moral capital to outrage.

The polity, which today indignantly watches the Alberta separatists meet US President Donald Trump, has been complicit in breathing life into a once-dead separatist and terrorist movement against India named Khalistan. Canada has protected and helped proliferate Khalistani activities on its soil under the guise of free speech and multiculturalism.

But Alberta’s independence push (often called ‘Wexit’ or Alberta separatism) is being described as “treason" by Canadian politicians like David Elby.
