Every Country That Pulled Out Of Eurovision 2026 Due To Israel's Involvement

The decision to let Israel remain in the song contest was an especially controversial one.

Last year, after months of speculation, Eurovision bosses confirmed that Israel would be invited back to compete in the upcoming song contest.

This was an extremely controversial decision given the escalating violence in Gaza, with many countries’ national broadcasters making the decision to boycott the competition as a result of Israel’s presence.

Ireland holds the joint record for most Eurovision wins, but Irish broadcaster RTÉ has confirmed that the country will neither compete in nor broadcast Eurovision 2026.

RTÉ said in a statement: “RTÉ feels that Ireland’s participation remains unconscionable given the appalling loss of lives in Gaza and the humanitarian crisis there which continues to put the lives of so many civilians at risk.”
