This new coffee shop is like a Sci-Fi film set - but is it really worth queuing for?

Matcha. Reformer Pilates. Açaí. Labubu.

If none of the above buzzwords feature anywhere in your wheelhouse, then Glasgow’s newest ‘concept’ coffee shop might not offer an awful lot of appeal.

But in all of its minimalist, neutral-toned glory, Kloud on Hutcheson Street has quickly captured the attention of the city’s Gen Z TikTokers. So much so, that during its opening weeks, customers have been happy to queue out the door for their chance to seize the perfect iced latte photo-op.

It was through social media that I was first introduced to this place, seemingly out of nowhere, when my For You Page became flooded with glossy videos captioned with incredulous comments like: ‘Can you believe this place is in Glasgow?!’.

While these statements should usually be taken with a grain of salt, in this instance, the bloggers and content creators make a fair point. Of all the city coffee shops I’ve visited over the years, I’ve never seen interiors like this.
