When I see things posted about the city of Geneva online, I know without a doubt there is a slew of people wanting to post a rash of negative insults about the place. Of course, online forums and places such as Facebook seem to breed this type of behavior.

Well, I am quite happy to profile a guy who heard some negative stuff about Geneva but decided to move here anyway.

And you know what? Chris Dugan, 35, has nothing but great things to say about the city. In fact, for a free-spirited guy who has spent a lot of time traveling around, he has even planted some roots here by buying a house — not as income property, but to live in.

Raised in the Buffalo area, where he attended Niagara University and the University at Buffalo for graduate school, Dugan found himself coming to the Finger Lakes, specifically Aurora, to help take care of his ill father. Later, not wanting to live in Aurora, he made his way to Geneva.

He loved what he saw.
