The Metropole restaurant will not reopen after the business decided to stop trading.

It comes after inspectors discovered live and dead cockroaches on crockery and glassware while old and fresh rat droppings were found throughout the eatery on Marine Parade.

A spokeswoman for Great Yarmouth Borough Council said: "The operator of the business has not sought permission to reopen and has notified the council that they have ceased trading."
