Jane Ann Kirk, 66, underwent an abdominoplasty and liposuction at the Noa Clinic in Poland on April 29, 2026.

The procedure itself was uncomplicated.

But Ms Kirk, of Manor Close, Gorleston, took anti-inflammatory painkillers afterwards.

An inquest at Norfolk Coroner’s Court heard the medication contributed to bleeding from an ulcer, triggering a medical emergency which doctors at the James Paget and Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital battled to control.

Ms Kirk’s family questioned whether delays in carrying out an endoscopy meant valuable time was lost before the source of the bleeding was identified and treated.

However, area coroner Maeve Sykes concluded that Mrs Kirk died from complications arising from necessary medical treatment and did not find that the concerns raised over the timing of the procedure had contributed to her death.

Ms Kirk, who was born Jane Miller in Great Yarmouth on April 19, 1960, had suffered gastrointestinal problems for several years, including a hiatus hernia and acid reflux.
