Warning issued as major house fire breaks out in town
Emergency services were called to Norfolk Drive just after 3pm today.
Norfolk Fire and Rescue has confirmed there are six appliances at the scene from Thetford, Hingham, Wymondham, Attleborough and two from Earlham.
An aerial platform is expected to arrive from Earlham.
A witness at the scene described it as "quite major".
"I have never seen so many emergency vehicles in this area," she added.
The road has been blocked off by police.
A spokesman for Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said: "Local residents in the immediate vicinity should keep doors and windows closed.
"We are aware that smoke is visible from the A11."
