The revelation comes after Matthew Homes faced a volley of criticism from Breckland councillors yesterday after it attempted to remove all 10 affordable homes from a 48-property estate in Dereham.

The developer, which builds homes across the country, had initially committed to the affordable homes but had sought to ditch the agreement after it said it was no longer viable to provide them.
