The Black Horse in Earlham Road has scooped several top accolades in the past year, including the title of the country's best pub, which came from Virgin Radio.

The venue's roast dinners have also become a hit, and were even rated the best in Norwich on Tripadvisor last year.

But the roast dinner season has now officially come to a close.

In a social media post shared to the venue's 12,300 Instagram followers, the Black Horse team announced it had been a "wonderful and memorable" season.

They revealed they had cooked up 4,750kg of roast potatoes, 775kg of parsnips, 930kg of carrots, 1,300kg of pork belly, 899kg of beef and an enormous 2,170 litres of gravy since the autumn.

"Thank you all for sharing all this and more with us," they said.

"We are awed and humbled."

They also promised the roasts would return with “all their finest trimmings” later in the year.
