The actress, best known for playing Liz McDonald in Coronation Street, has been appearing in the all-star series, which was pre-recorded in September 2025.

But in scenes that aired on Tuesday night, she tearfully told her fellow campmates she was being withdrawn on health grounds.

In February, just months after filming wrapped, the 69-year-old shared that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and was returning to her home in Norfolk to undergo treatment.

She has been open about her journey and her surgery at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, which "went really well".

Callard has now moved back to Dublin, where she will be starring in the Irish soap opera, Fair City.

In her final I'm A Celebrity episode, Callard was seen explaining to campmates: "I didn’t feel very well this morning.

"I had a bit of a funny turn, and they’ve said I can’t come back in.  I’ve got to come out.

“I don’t want to go, I’m really sorry.

“I’m absolutely gutted. I wanted to finish.

“I wanted to prove that older women could do it.”

After it aired, she recounted the events of the day in a video to her 273,000 Instagram followers.

She said rewatching the scenes made her cry.

"Of course, I didn't know then that I had cancer, but I knew it was the last couple of days there that I'd not felt very well," she said.

"What happened was, I was called into the Bush Telegraph, and apparently, I lost consciousness for a little while.

"They took me to a medical hut - they were amazing, they really looked after me, and then they said 'you can't go back'."

Callard said she protested, wanting to return to camp and "succeed", but she was not allowed to do so.

"That was the start of everything, really," she added.

"So it's made me really emotional, but I will beat this. I will beat it."
