Indian Lies and Pakistan’s Response

South Asia is already under the shadow of tensions, mistrust, and the risks of war. In such circumstances, any incident between Pakistan and India, two nuclear-armed countries, cannot simply be treated as an ordinary news story or a minor border incident. The important press conference held two days ago by Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry once again highlighted the reality that the information war has now become as significant a challenge for states as conventional warfare. Against the backdrop of Indian claims against Pakistan, alleged false flag operations, and the possibility of aggression, Pakistan has presented its position before the world in an unequivocal manner. The most important and striking aspect of the press conference was the appearance before the media of former Havildar Muhammad Asif, alive and well. Indian sources and media had reportedly claimed the death of a person whom they identified as a Pakistani national and an alleged terrorist. Pakistan responded to this claim by presenting Muhammad Asif before journalists. According to the Pakistani military spokesperson, he retired from the Pakistan Army in 2023 and is currently in Pakistan.
