Doorstep Postings: running from the problem
If the attempts to facilitate Jewish mass emigration from Canada were just another way to make bank off of Jewish panic, it would be barely noteworthy or newsworthy. Some conspiracy-minded folks might wonder who’s making commissions off of all those apartments being sold in Panama, but that would hardly justify the months of social media and real-world churn generated by this of purported pile of Plan B’s. Growing up, all I ever heard about was how once upon a time, Jews were dying to get into this country only to be told “None is Too Many.” Now none is still too many even though we apparently can’t wait to get out! Plus ça change!
The trouble with prominent Jews like Dr. Emannuel Moss, the soon-to-be former head of cardiac surgery at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal, leaving Canada in the face of spiking antisemitism, is that Canadians live and die by the maxim of If you’re going to criticize, you’d better be perfect yourself. The best case scenario for the reaction to Dr. Moss’s departure is that it’s just another unfortunate example of brain drain, the kind of thing that Liberals muse about stopping by forcing anyone who wants to follow in the good doctor’s footsteps to pay half a million.........
