Flexibility in benefits plans, workplace policies key to supporting women’s health journeys: expert
As women are increasingly carrying an invisible burden of navigating Canada’s health-care system, employers can help these employees by providing flexibility in their benefits plans and workplace policies, says Sarah Hoffman, president and chief executive officer at Pacific Blue Cross.
“Understanding [the need for] flexibility is vital. One of the things that employers can do is make sure their benefits plan has the flexibility to accommodate women’s needs, finding pathways to health care [with a] women-focused plan design.”
