Canadian defined benefit pension plans produced a median return of six per cent in the second quarter of 2026 and a 6.4 per cent return over a year-to-date period, according to a new report by RBC Investor Services.

Canadian equities have so far this year returned 11.2 per cent due to a seven per cent return in the quarter. Global equities returned 15.1 per cent in the quarter resulting in a 14 per cent return........
