Former Winnipeg dentist Dr. Gary Levine who previously admitted to breaching professional boundaries with a patient is now facing a civil lawsuit seeking damages.

A retired Winnipeg dentist who admitted to engaging in a sexual relationship with a patient while she was under his care is now being sued in civil court, months after a professional discipline panel found him guilty of misconduct.

A statement of claim filed in the Manitoba Court of King’s Bench names Dr. Gary Levine as the defendant. The former patient is seeking damages for alleged sexual assault and related civil wrongs, as well as compensation for counselling, medical treatment and other expenses she says stem from the relationship.
