Government funding for University of Manitoba research labs
The province is putting $16.8 million into new research buildings at the University of Manitoba, a move the government says will expand Manitoba’s ability to develop vaccines, study dangerous diseases and train the next generation of scientists.
The funding will go toward two new biological research facilities — one at the Fort Garry campus and another at Bannatyne — both designed for work that currently can’t be done in Manitoba because of limited lab space and security requirements.
