Undercover Video Outs Heresy in Talarico's Longtime Church: They Hand Out 'Rewritten' Bibles That Defy God's Identity

Everyone gets to pick a pronoun. God does not.

That is the rule at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian in Austin, the church that baptized James Talarico, married his parents, and still claims him as a son.

Undercover video from August shows what they put in a new member’s hands: The Inclusive Bible, a 2007 rewrite that strips “Son of God” and “Son of Man” off Jesus and treats “the Lord” as sexist and classist.

Pastor Jim Rigby, Talarico’s longtime mentor, told an undercover journalist the church “typically” gives that edition when people join.

“It’s good on the gender stuff,” he said, according to a video posted on X by Amber Duke of The Daily Caller.

For the “metaphysical stuff,” he admitted, “it’s not a very good translation.” Then: you need a good translation “so you can let go of the stupid stuff.”
