This ‘Batman’ Star Says He Was Given Pills to Shrink His Bulge
Ward says concerns over how he looked in Robin’s tight costume led to a doctor’s visit and pills intended to make him appear smaller on TV.

Just after receiving his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2020, Burt Ward—who played Robin on the 1960s Batman TV series—decided to have a little chat with Page Six about his apparently massive penis, for whatever reason. As Ward explained back then, he’d gotten himself into some trouble with the Catholic League of Decency in his Batman days due to the way his junk looked in his tight-fitting shorts.
“They thought that Robin had a very large bulge for television,” he recalled, presumably with a huge smile on his face. Evidently, this became such a problem that Ward was prescribed medication to help “shrink him up.”
