There isn’t a live performer on this planet who hasn’t had problems with people in the audience at some point, and that’s especially true of stand-up comedians. Making people laugh is hard enough, but throw in a crowd that isn’t cooperating, and you’ve got a nightmare situation on your hands. And while there may be multiple ways to handle such an ordeal, calling it a night early is easily the simplest solution.
