Fisesp Holds 19th Aging Seminar Focused on Rights, Care, and Active Longevity

By 2030, Brazil will have more people aged 60 and over than children and adolescents up to 14 years old, according to IBGE projections. The rapid aging of the population brings new challenges to society and reinforces the need to expand discussions on public policies, health, autonomy, and the protection of rights for older adults.

It is in this context that the Jewish Federation of the State of São Paulo (Fisesp) will hold, on August 19, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the 19th edition of the Aging Seminar, with the theme “Aging in the 21st Century – Rights and Care”, at Unibes Cultural (Rua Oscar Freire, 2500 – São Paulo). The event is sponsored by Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein and has institutional support from Congregação Israelita Paulista (CIP), Unibes, and Unibes Cultural.

The official opening will take place at 9:30 a.m., with the presence of Fisesp president Celia Parnes. During the ceremony, a tribute will also be paid to an outstanding older adult.

With the goal of promoting training, updates, and integration among professionals, volunteers, and those interested in aging, the seminar seeks to contribute to the continuous improvement of services for older adults—a segment that is growing rapidly in Brazil and worldwide. The meeting will bring together specialists from different fields to discuss the challenges and opportunities of an increasingly long-lived society, addressing topics related to health, autonomy, inclusion,........
