Norman Finkelstein is an American political scientist and author.  “Gaza’s Gravediggers: An Inquiry into Corruption in High Places”, is his newest publication. In an article in the Jerusalem Post earlier this week, I read that in this book,  Finkelstein draws an explicit historical parallel between the events of October 7 and Nat Turner’s 1831 slave revolt.  I did not know anything about this revolt, so I looked it up. Basically, Nat Turner, a preacher,  believed he received a calling to abolish slavery. He and a group of followers murdered his owners, and proceeded to take an estimated 55 more white lives, before the uprising was suppressed. Turner was eventually caught and hanged.
