I know what it’s like to leave everything behind.

As a Jewish refugee from the Soviet Union, my family fled because staying was no longer safe. America became more than a destination. It became an opportunity. I grew up, earned an MBA, built a career, raised a family, and discovered what freedom could look like.

That experience shaped how I think about people trapped in war.

For years, we’ve heard that Gaza is an unbearable humanitarian catastrophe. We hear about children. Families. Fear. Destruction. If that is true, then we should be asking a very simple question…

Why are we insisting that civilians stay in the middle of an active war zone?

Wars end faster when civilians are protected, not trapped between armies.
