According to the Pakistan Foreign Office press release, Pakistan has successfully launched an indigenous Electro-optical (EO-3) satellite system with the help of its longstanding friend, China. Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military media wing of the Pakistan Armed Forces, also confirmed the launch of the satellite system. In a statement by ISPR, the satellite was launched from China's Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre with the assistance of the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO). As per Xinhua, China’s media outlet, the satellite was lifted off by a Long March-6 carrier rocket and successfully entered the desired orbit. This launch marked the 640th flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series. The launch of EO-3 marked a historic achievement and yet another significant development in Pakistan's journey towards self-reliance and technological excellence.

As per the ISPR statement, the satellite would provide reconnaissance data to support vital national needs. It will help to navigate better solutions for urban planning, disaster management, food security, and environmental protection.
