The Fleadh proved it’s time for Belfast diners to broaden their culinary horizons

I had a fantastic dinner in east Belfast earlier this week.

Luna, in Ballyhackamore, served plate after plate of tremendous food, the kind that makes everyone at the table go quiet for a moment before the inevitable chorus of “You have to try this”.

There will be more on that meal in these pages soon, but somewhere between the starters and dessert, I felt a small and thoroughly deserved pang of guilt.

Despite working and living within perfectly reasonable travelling distance of Ballyhackamore, I had never bothered visiting Luna before. In my head, it was always just that little bit too far away. Too much of a trek.
