THE world has fallen in love with Erling Haaland.

From strangers on the internet to colleagues and siblings, almost everyone I encounter everyone holds a similar view; the Norwegian striker is a delight to watch, entertainment exemplified.

And with apologies to those who feel much more strongly about football or any other sport, what is the World Cup if not an entertainment spectacle.

A song based around a chant invented by supporters at his club, Manchester City, has been used for countless viral videos on various social media networks.

These videos are an amalgamation of impressive footballing feats showcasing his obvious talent, moments of him showing kindness to fans and to staff, and of his strikingly expressive face, which always looks like it is inviting us into whatever joke has made him smile.

Others focus on his close friendship with England star Jude Bellingham, a former teammate, which is respectful, tender and joking all at once.

It helps that Norway has had a historic run, ending at the quarter-finals, in their first World Cup in more........
