Progressive candidate Abdul El-Sayed will give remarks Wednesday morning after clinching the Democratic nomination in the Michigan Senate race to replace outgoing Sen. Gary Peters (D).

El-Sayed defeated Rep. Haley Stevens (D-Mich.) in the close race with 48.5 percent to the moderate’s 47.5 percent, according to Decision Desk HQ. He will now face off against former Rep. Mike Rogers (R) for the battleground seat in November.
