Rep. Al Green files articles of impeachment against Trump again

Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) introduced articles of impeachment against President Trump on Monday, reviving his push to remove the president from office as Democrats debate how aggressively to confront Trump ahead of the 2026 midterm elections.

Green’s resolution is aimed at impeaching Trump for high crimes and misdemeanors “committed in violation of the president’s mandated oath of office to preserve, protect, and defend the United States Constitution.” It accuses Trump of operating U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) “as his vicious, quota-driven, unaccountable paramilitary police forces.”

Democrats have urged the White House to reform its immigration enforcement tactics after the deaths of U.S. citizens and immigrants by ICE and Border Patrol officials. Among the most prominent cases was the death of Renee Good, a 37-year-old U.S. citizen and Minneapolis resident, who was shot by an immigration officer in January. 

Weeks later, Border Patrol agents shot and killed Alex Pretti, a 37-year-old U.S. citizen and intensive care........
