Justices Kagan, Barrett to testify before Congress on Supreme Court budget

Two Supreme Court justices are set to deliver testimony on the high court’s annual budget request to lawmakers on Capitol Hill in two separate hearings next week.

Justices Elena Kagan and Amy Coney Barrett will appear before the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government on July 14, Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.), the chair of the House Appropriations Committee, announced on Tuesday.

The pair is also expected to testify before members of the Senate Appropriations Committee that same afternoon.
