Trump to host Brazilian president for talks on economy, security

President Trump will host Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for a working visit at the White House on Thursday, according to a White House official. 

The official told The Hill that Trump and Lula will discuss economic and security matters. 

Brazil’s Vice President Geraldo Alckmin told the Brazilian outlet Globo News on Tuesday that Lula will bring up an agreement to combat organized crime, according to Reuters. 

Trump and Lula are on opposite sides of the political spectrum and have had a contentious relationship at times. 

In July, Trump slapped a 50 percent tariff on Brazil in part over the prosecution........
