Jeffries on Trump, New York Knicks: ‘Why does he have to ruin a good thing’

House Minority Leader Hakim Jeffries (D-N.Y.) in a new interview complained that President Trump is planning to attend Monday night’s Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden between the New York Knicks and San Antonio Spurs.

“I’m not sure it’s going to be a good reception for him,” Jeffries said during the interview, which aired on CNN. “But why does Donald Trump always have to ruin a good thing, like literally the Knicks haven’t been in the finals for 27 years, the city is trying to celebrate. We’re trying to embrace this and this guy has to inject himself.”

The president, Jeffries added, “should focus on trying to improve the quality of the life of the American people........
