TORONTO—All the latest polls are pointing in the same direction. Just over a year since he took office, Prime Minister Mark Carney and his government have never been more popular. Canadians are becoming gradually more comfortable with the new prime minister, and the steady drumbeat of weirdness from the White House helps the Liberals, who didn’t need nearly as long as the Conservatives did to come up with a coherent position.
