Musician Gene Simmons blasted celebrities for being pretentious enough to believe the public cares about their political opinions in a TMZ interview March 10.
The legendary KISS cofounder took aim at stars after being asked how he felt about director Ben Stiller calling out President Donald Trump’s White House for allegedly using a clip from one of his films in what he called a “propaganda machine.” During an interview with TMZ, he was pressed on how he felt about Hollywood stars criticizing Trump and didn’t mince words.
“Yeah, because everybody in the world should listen to what actors and comedians say — because they’re so qualified,” Simmons said sarcastically.
He then had some unsolicited advice for the stars. “Basically, shut the fuck up. Do your art and shut up,” Simmons asserted.

Simmons doubled down on his disdain for famous figures that try to put throw their political agendas into the mix.
“Nobody’s interested in your opinions — that includes me,” he told TMZ.
“Who the fuck do you think you are?”
Simmons continued, “People in America work hard for their living and they don’t want to be lectured to by people who live in mansions and drive Rolls Royces,” he said.
The famous singer made it clear that the stars aren’t the resource that the average citizens are looking to hear from when it comes to politics and worldwide issues.

“It’s time for everybody in the entertainment industry to shut their piehole and just do your art.”
“Nobody cares what you think — I don’t,” Simons said. (RELATED: ‘Never Seen Anything Like This’: Ontario Premiere Doug Ford Addresses Shooting At American Embassy)
Before concluding the interview, Simmons sarcastically mentioned Kylie Jenner and Mark Ruffalo while highlighting how irrelevant their world views were to the public.
Stiller went after the White House’s official X account on March 6, accusing them of using a clip from the 2008 film “Tropic Thunder” for propaganda in a video montage and calling for its removal.
