My View: A small encounter demonstrates that imagined hostility isn't always there
My son and I were craving our usual order – chicken shawarma and tabouli – from our favorite Middle Eastern takeout spot. I placed the order, and as I was heading out the door, my son called after me, “You better tuck your necklace into your sweatshirt, Ma.”
