Nigel Farage unveils new Reform UK figures in Wales ahead of Senedd election

Reform UK leader Nigel Farage has unveiled new senior figures for the party in Wales at a rally in Newport, as the party ramps up its campaign ahead of May’s Senedd election.

Speaking at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Wales at the Celtic Manor, Farage confirmed that James Evans, the former Conservative MS for Brecon and Radnorshire, has joined Reform UK, describing him as a key figure for the party in Wales.

Evans, a sheep farmer and former Tory frontbencher, said Wales was “fundamentally broken” and blamed 26 years of Labour-led devolution for failing public services. He said he could no longer support what he described as a “cosy Cardiff Bay bubble” after the Conservatives refused to rule out working with Plaid Cymru or Labour on the Welsh budget.
