Bay Area Host Committee responds to gripes about SF Super Bowl's traffic issues

The Bay Area Host Committee is proud of its efforts to spread Super Bowl events across its namesake region, but some on-the-ground reporters who’ve spent the week in San Francisco aren’t too keen on the vision.

While a majority of the events ahead of Sunday’s big game took place in San Francisco, some have had to travel back and forth across the region to attend other notable events. The Super Bowl Opening Night event was in San Jose, the committee held a party in Redwood City and the game itself is in Santa Clara. Other events have taken place in various cities along the Peninsula and in the East Bay.

There have been some logistical issues that have arisen because of that spread. On Wednesday, a flag football event at the Moscone Center was delayed by nearly 30 minutes because 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy and Packers quarterback Jordan Love got........
