Private LA airport for celebs causes alarm with NTSB

A top transportation safety official warned that the Federal Aviation Administration is disregarding concerns that a California airport could be the site of the next fatal crash.
At a Tuesday press conference following a National Transportation Safety Board meeting in Washington, D.C., Chair Jennifer Homendy spoke about safety conditions for travelers at the Hollywood Burbank Airport. The Southern California airport is hugely popular, serving over 5.7 million passengers between January and November last year.

“I keep hearing about other areas in the airspace where they’re concerned,” she said. “Burbank is one where commercial airlines have called me to say the next midair [collision] is going to be at Burbank and nobody at FAA is paying attention to us.”
