Sensational series and superheroes: The library’s top children’s books of 2025
Young readers checked out a wide range of beloved series in 2025, and a certain friendly neighbourhood superhero also swung into the Top-10. From laugh-out-loud graphic novels to timeless picture-book favourites, these titles kept kids reading all year long.
Kicking off the list at No. 10 is Jeff Kinney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. First published in 2007, the books follow Greg Heffley as he records the daily trials and triumphs of friendship, family life, and middle school. Greg navigates bullies, awkward growth spurts, and the dreaded Cheese Touch with plenty of humour that continues to resonate with young readers.
Spider-Man proves his enduring popularity with two titles landing in the Top-10. Go Team Spidey! by Frankie Hallam takes ninth place, followed closely by Spider-Man Bugs Out! by Daka........
