Charlottetown! Indeed, Islanders all! Your snow day hibernation is baffling to this transplanted Winnipegger. I understand that not all residents are prepared to arrive at concerts wrapped in meters of scarves, clomping around in clunky snow boots, and boasting of the snow drifts they conquered to arrive to hear some music, the way Prairie people do.
But Saturday’s bit of slushy snow? One of the many lights of this province, Luminos, sang a wonderful program to an audience of only the hardiest souls in the glorious St. Paul’s Church. So worth the splashy mess! What a great music scene on this Island!

NOT ANOTHER FERRY FIASCO
The real reason the new P.E.I.-N.S. ferry is on pause is that the governments (Canada, P.E.I, and Nova Scotia) do not want another fiasco that occurred when the MV Confederation began its runs in 1993. Then they found out that the entrance of the ferry was too big and did not fit into the dock at Wood Islands as the dock entrance was too small.
This made the national news across Canada showing the ferry unable to dock at Wood Islands. It was on the television and articles were printed. Nancy White did a parody, Ram ‘er in, on the then CBC Sunday radio morning show the Sunday after.
